Rootwise Bio-Catalyst Enzyme Elixer utilizes organisms found in the Rootwise Mycrobe Complete along with select yeast and fungi cultures, enzymes are produced, extracted, and concentrated into a non-living liquid form. This results in an enzyme profile that functions symbiotically with the organisms present in Mycrobe Complete soil inoculant. These digestive enzymes are the catalysts of the soil biology process which enables nutrient uptake. When applied in tandem with a soil inoculant the enzymes allow the microbes to come out of dormancy and perform their tasks with increased viability and efficiency.Establishing this ideal biological system aids in your crop's ability to thrive.PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NEW FORMULA FOR THE BIO-CATALYST ENZYME ELIXER IS SHELF STABLE TO REDUCE/ELIMINATE BOTTLE SWELLING, AND WILL HAVE A BLACKISH COLOR. THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL.
Montmorillonite is used as a soil additive to increase the CEC of the soil and dramatically enhance the soil profile through natural micronutrients. This Montmorillonite is so premium it can be used internally to treat a variety of ailments. Find more info here at http://www.montmorillonite.org/"The results of my research and findings on the natural clay mineral MONTMORILLONITE, are as follows:
1. The mineral absorbs toxic substances from the intestinal tract, and at the same time possesses a healing and soothing quality.
2. The absorptive power of this natural clay - mineral compound is very great. It absorbs gaseous substances - and aids in regularity.3. The natural clay mineral helps supply mineral trace elements that may be lacking in the diet.
4. The natural trace elements act as catalysts which aid in metabolism, and cell building.
5. These minerals form a gel-like substance that acts as a protective coating in the intestinal tract.
6. These minerals contain both ferrous and ferric iron. Ferrous irons for the hemoglobin (red coloring-matter of the blood) formation, and ferric irons for the muscular cells.
7. Minerals function in maintaining osmotic pressure and influence contractility of muscles.
8. Minerals enter into the synthesis of every living cell and they influence the vital processes of oxidation, secretion, growth, and reproduction.
9. Mineral elements are essential to the structure of certain complex chemical compounds, which influence the course of metabolism."
Similar to many other clays, montmorillonite swells with the addition of water. Montmorillonite expands considerably more than other clays due to water penetrating the interlayer molecular spaces and concomitant adsorption. The amount of expansion is due largely to the type of exchangeable cation contained in the sample. "An interesting side-light on the background of this rare, natural Montmorillonite mineral, is written and told by many persons who have delved into its history. It is told that deposits were rare and greatly esteemed by the Indians. Medicine Men wandered for hundreds of miles in search of the cherished minerals." "The most outstanding form of Montmorillonite, in my many years of experimenting with trace elements, is the brown trace mineral from Panaca, Nevada, processed by New World Minerals Company. The Panaca Montmorillonite deposit is superior to all other known deposits. All of the other deposits of which I am aware, were formed by volcanic action which means that most of the elements present are in the inorganic state, and are not really assimilated by animals and humans. Inorganic minerals such as dolomite, ferrous sulfate, zinc gluconate and calcium gluconate when ingested, must be made soluble in the stomach. At the same time protein is hydrolyzed into amino acids. When both are done, and conditions are right, the mineral is chelated by the amino acids, meaning suspended between two or more amino acids. Once chelated the mineral can be metabolized." "The Panaca deposit was formed by heavy sedimentation of mineral elements in plant and animal marine life such as seaweed, shrimp and algae. In this form the minerals were naturally chelated in the plant and animal organism, or in other words, "in organic form."

If you're looking to mix your own soil you will need a Nutrient Kit and a Mineral Kit.Save Money and Get both together in our Complete Soil Building Kit. If you're looking for minerals see our Mineral Mix for Peat Moss. We separate the two so that the natural moisture in the rock dust doesn't effect the raw nutrients. This Recipe is inspired by and credited to Mr. "ClackamasCoots" aka "LumperDawgz"
I have always wanted to offer a nutrient kit in the style of ClackamasCoots. This nutrient kit is proven. It works because it is such a simple and affordable starting point to base your soil from. Use this kit and our free DIY nutrient E-Book and you will have healthy soil and healthy plants.   Building your own soil? This is our preferred method...Want to learn more about Building soil? Check out this blog article: Building Soil Article
Nutrient Kits Include:
(Use at 2.5 Cups Per cubic foot of soil or about 5-6 Tablespoon per gallon of soil)
1. Crustacean Meal - Crab and Shrimp
2. Kelp Meal - Thorvin Brand Ascophyllum Nodosum
3. Neem Cake/Karanja Cake - 70/30 Premium Organic Neem Cake Imported from India (West Coast Horticulture or Neem Resource)
4. Milled Malted Barley Organic 2 Row (Our recipe is based on 1/2 cup per cubic foot with each ingredient and Milled Malted Barley at 1 cup per cubic foot)
Selecting the right Nutrient Kit:
5.33 lb Nutrient Kit (12 Cups)- Mixes into 6 Cubic Feet of Soil = $30.008 lb
Nutrient Kit (18 Cups)- Mixes into 9 Cubic Feet of Soil (1/3 Yard) = $40.0012 lb
Nutrient Kit (28 Cups) - Mixes into 14 Cubic Feet of Soil (1/2 Yard) = $60.0024 lb
Nutrient Kit (54 Cups) - Mixes into 27 Cubic Feet of soil (1 Yard) = $100.0032 lb
Nutrient Kit (72 Cups) - Mixes into 36 Cubic Feet of soil (1.38 Yards) = $130.00
What You'll Need To Get To Finish The Recipe: 1. Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss: Available in 2.0 Cubic Foot Bales and 3.8 Cubic Foot Bales at Home Depot and most gardening stores. Notice: The 2.0 Bale will fluff up to about 3.0 Cubic Feet and the 3.8 Bale will fluff to about 6 Cubic Feet. 2. High Quality Compost or Worm Castings: Search for local compost or castings on craigslist or order some here on our website. 3. Aeration Amendment: Something to aerate the soil like perlite does in normal potting mix. We like to use Pumice and Rice hulls but you can use whatever is available to you including perlite, rice hulls, lava rock, pumice etc. You'll notice there isn't any High P ingredient like Soft Rock Phosphate or Fish Bone Meal and after speaking with Coot about this I realized a few things. This Kit has many ingredients that contain Phosphorous at normal levels which will not be harmful to Mycorrhizal fungi. High P amendments can have a negative effect on the soil Mycorrhizal life, for this reason Coot recommends using this recipe. Mix and then let sit for 1-2 weeks before planting.
Here is the Mix as written by ClackamasCoots:
Equal parts of Sphagnum peat moss, some aeration deal (pumice, rice hulls, lava rock - whatever is sitting in the garage) and finally some mix of humus - my compost, worm castings some black leaf mold I bought from the local 'worm guy'To each 1 c.f. of this mix I add the following:
1/2 cup organic Neem meal
1/2 cup organic Kelp meal
1/2 cup Crab meal (or Crustacean meal when available - it has Shrimp meal with the Crab meal. It's a local product from the fisheries on the Oregon & Washington Coasts)
4 cups of some minerals - rock dust
After the plant is in the final container I top-dress with my worm castings at 2" or so and then I hit it with Aloe vera juice and Comfrey extract. Or Borage. Or Stinging Nettle. Or Horsetail ferns. Whatever is ready.
That's it.

This pumpkin extract is made with love on a small farm in Paonia Colorado using natural probiotic farming practices.Note: The Fermented Liquid Pumpkin Extract is a seasonal product, and only available for a limited time! Get your own while supplies last!Derived From:  Probiotically Grown Pumpkins, Clean Mountain Water, EM-1, Home Made LABS (LactoBacillus Serum), Super Cera Powder, and Molasses. This is then fermented until the pumpkin is digested and extracted into the liquid and the molasses consumed by the microbes to lock in the PH for stability and ease of use in the garden. Why Use?Since starting BuildASoil we've been preaching DIY techniques. This particular fermented plant extract is made from pumpkins along with the whole plant, and all the information we have about fermenting your own extracts suggests that you should start with the part of the plant that you wish to grow. For instance, if you wish to get faster vegetative growth you would ferment fast growing green leaves to feed to your plants. However, if you wished to grow bigger flowers, you should ferment flowers to feed to your plants. It is with this idea, we fermented pumpkin plants and flowers to be used as an all natural bloom booster for your garden.
Growing in living soil, coot originally taught us about foliar spraying with Potassium Silicate and it's become a go to for healthy plants that resist disease and have higher harvest weights. Besides that, coot taught us that potassium silicate can very effectively emulsify oils like Neem oil or essential oil for home made pesticide spray.
Liquid AgSil Potassium Silicate provides a highly available source of silicon and potassium that helps plants build strength from the inside out. Silicon supports cell structure, improves stress tolerance, and reinforces natural defenses, while potassium plays a key role in overall growth and metabolic function. This formula is designed to be safe for a wide range of crops, including sensitive varieties, with a low salt index that fits well into professional and home growing programs.
AgSil can be applied through soil or as a foliar spray, helping plants handle drought, temperature extremes, salinity, and mineral toxicity. It also supports the plant immune response, increasing resistance to common soil and foliar pressures. Many growers prefer liquid potassium silicate for ease of use, but this powdered form offers long shelf life, flexible mixing, and excellent value once properly dissolved.
Guaranteed Analysis
Silica (SiO2) 21 percent
Potassium (K2O) 8 percent
Derived from potassium silicate
Why Growers Use AgSil
Improves plant strength and structure
Supports stress tolerance from heat, cold, and drought
Enhances resistance to environmental and biological pressures
Low salt index and safe for sensitive crops
Instructions for Use:
BuildASoil recommends using (0.5 mL - 1.5ml) of AgSil 25 per gallon of water
Foliar spray your plants or water in.
Excellent for emulsifying oils for foliar spray
BuildASoil has offered the Agsil16H for over a decade and with high demand for a liquid version and unstable supply last year of the powder, we decided to bring in the Agsil Liquid. Some growers would complain the powder bricked up or they would accidentally use to much, the liquid is heavier to ship but easy to use.

EM-5 Now Available through BuildASoil.com
Formula EM-5 is a versatile tool in your garden and is typically home made. We realized that most gardeners needed Formula EM-5 when it was already too late for them to start brewing it all up and fermenting it. After we realized this we set out to create a product that would only include the very best ingredients and be shelf stable. Below we provide the recipe to make your own for free but have found that most people prefer to purchase our Pre-Made and Shelf stable version instead.
Ingredients in our Formula EM-5:
Purified Water, Organic EM-1, Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Grape Alcohol, Organic Yucca Extract, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Peppermint Essential Oil. This is safe to spray on flowers when diluted and is best used throughout the growing season.
Formula (EM5) RECIPE for home made:
As always, we are giving you the recipe to make your own spectacular homemade plant wash. The fermentation extracts properties out of plant materials and the alcohol and retains them in the liquid. The EM1 in the recipe is the fermentation catalyst. This is an all-natural concoction that can be made by anyone and is not harmful to humans or animals. It combines water, EM1, a distilled spirit, molasses, and vinegar. The most successful programs with BAS Plant Wash involve alternating its applications with Activated EM1 and EMFPE. The essential oils that are the active ingredient in the BAS Plant Wash are exempt from EPA registration as a minimum risk pesticide.
The formula for one gallon of EM5 is as follows (1:1:1:1:20):
3/4 C EM1
3/4 C Molasses
3/4 C Vinegar (white or apple cider)
3/4 C distilled alcohol (vodka, whiskey, tequila)
Add some other plant material (fresh hot peppers or garlic...or fresh herbs that have known pesticide properties like mint leaves, lavender, eucalyptus, mella luca, neem, etc.)
Fill the gallon container with warm water (110-120ºF)
Seal and ferment until pH goes below 4.0
Spray EM5 alternately with EM1 or Fermented Plant Extract through a hose-end sprayer.
Often people will set up an informal program as follows (Diluting the AEM1, EM5, or EM FPE with 500 parts water):
Week One: Apply AEM1, 1 gallon for 1/2 acre property
Week Two: Apply EM5, 1 gallon for 1/2 acre property
Week Three: Apply EM FPE, 1 gallon for 1/2 acre property
Week Four: Apply AEM1, 1 gallon for 1/2 acre property
This pattern is repeated throughout the growing season.
Directions:
Use 1 ounce per gallon for normal foliar spray use in container gardens.
Use up to 8 ounces per gallon for problems such as the growth of algae, odor-causing bacteria, and mold stains.
Use as general house hold cleaner for any purpose.

Researching Kefir quickly leads one to find a myriad of legends pertaining to this ancient, thousands of year old, practice of fermenting milk to produce a stable probiotic. This probiotic is legendary for its health properties.
Ingredients: Purified Water, Organic Molasses, Yeast Cultures, Lactic Acid Bacteria, Humic Acid
Whey from kefir grains have a complex microbial biology composition with polysaccharides, nutrients, minerals and proteins. These fermented compounds create a diverse probiotic whey for your plants and soil.
Soon you'll be shouting, YAH WHEY!!!!! As your plants pray to the light.
Check out the photo of the active fermentation. That is without any magnification! The image is taken with a normal cell phone camera.
So what does that have to do with growing plants?
Organic matter in the garden is broken down by probiotics, but an often forgotten component is the Nitrogen that the breakdown requires to speed up the process. Composting is all about Carbon to Nitrogen ratios.
Organic Potting soils can have high carbon and when amending with rice hulls and organic amendments the soil can have an elevated C:N ratio which means the soil will be taking Nitrogen for a while before it starts to release it again.
Now that you understand the problem, you can clearly see the solution.
YAH WHEY! When you use stabilized Kefir Whey designed by Thrive you will be simultaneously feeding the soil much needed amino proteins (Nitrogen) That will help the breakdown of nutrients and also make readily available food for your plants.
Once you see the level of calcium, nutrients and vitamins that are contained within kefir and combine that with the knowledge of the diversity of lactobacillus cultures present you can really start to understand that this is more than your average product.
This Yah Whey was made to help your soil and your plants THRIVE!
Storage:
Keep product in dark cool area. Keep fully sealed after use. For extended storage (4-12 months) store in fridge. Contents will expire after 12 months if not opened. Contents contain living organisms, use accordingly. Secondary fermentation may occur, causing the bottle to expand. Regularly vent by unscrewing the cap, to mitigate bottle expansion.

Description
Premium 97 Solution Grade Diamond Gypsum
The first step in building potting soil or in building native soil is to get the calcium right!
Gypsum is Calcium Sulfate and is excellent calcium source for no-till growers. The added sulfur helps keep terps high and the soil balanced.
EXTREMELY PURE
97% Calcium sulfate dihydrate, the purest available on the market.
HIGHLY SOLUBLE
97% passing 200 mesh and 92% passing 325 mesh means it goes into solution faster and more completely than other sources.
IMPROVES LOW – SOLUTE WATER
Adds minerals to pure water to improve water penetration into soil.
LOWER APPLICATION RATES
Other western gypsum sources can require up to 4x more product to get the same results.
HELPS RECLAIM SODIC SOILS
Ultra-soluble calcium to replace and leach sodium in the soil.
How to Use
Use at lower rates (50-400 lb/acre) than non-soluble gypsum, but more frequently
For foliar rates use 1-10 lb/acre
Can be used for fertigation
1-2 tablespoons per 5 gallons for container gardening/flush
When irrigating with gypsum, it's best used in small amounts more often rather than forcing a large amount at at time.
Stock Solution & Injector Setup
Gypsum is only slightly soluble. A true “solution” can’t reach the strength you need, so this is a slurry. Keep it agitated and filtered.
Stock mix (works well as a slurry)
8 oz gypsum (by weight) per 1 gallon of water.
8 oz = 226.8 g per gallon of stock.
How much finished water will that treat at 2 g/gal?
226.8 g ÷ 2 g/gal = ~113.4 gallons finished water.
Using an injector
Target dose is 2 grams per gal finished.
Required stock strength by ratio:
1:100 → need 200 g/gal in stock (= ~7.06 oz/gal)
Adding 8 oz/gal stock gives ~2.27 g/gal finished—slightly “hot” but close and totally fine to use as a go to ratio.
If you want it exact you will want to weigh your gypsum in house and extrapolate that way.
1:128 (common Dosatron) → need 256 g/gal (= ~9.03 oz/gal)
For 1:128, use ~9.0 oz/gal stock to land right at 2 g/gal finished.
Because the numbers are close you could just use the 8 Ounces per gallon but the level of precision is up to you.
Practical tips for slurry injection
Agitate constantly if possible.
Keep the injector pickup 2–3" above the bottom so it draws well-suspended slurry, not settled silt.
Strain the slurry into the stock tank (paint strainer bag) and keep the inline 200-mesh filter clean.
Don’t co-tank with phosphate-heavy or carbonate/alkaline products (can precipitate).
Flush the system with clear water after dosing
