Every Friday, it happens — Free Clone Fridays at Matt's Hydroponics. Spend $40 and a free plant start comes with it. In the store you pick your own. Online you get a mystery clone, and that is where it gets interesting.

About the online mystery clone. You do not pick this one — that is the whole point. It could be anything that came in that week, and some of what goes out is a unique rooted cut worth $500 or more. It arrives labeled, so you will know exactly what you have the moment you open the box.

Do not want one? Then do not enter the code. Using the code is how you claim it, so nothing ships unless you ask for it.

What is in stock?

Our nursery partner, The Clone Foundry, brings in clean, verified plant starts through the week. What is on the bench on any given Friday is whatever they have delivered, but you can expect:

  • Aromatic hobby varieties
  • High-performance, vigorous options
  • New breeder drops and community favorites
  • All health-screened and ready for home gardening projects

Selections are first come, first served. When they are gone, they are gone.

We want everyone, from beginners to seasoned hobbyists, to have access to healthy, reliable plant starts and the knowledge to help them thrive.

Free Clone Fridays is our way of giving back to the growers who keep New England's plant community strong.

Want to learn to grow it yourself?

We teach free classes at the store, and you do not need to buy anything to attend. Grow classes run every Saturday, 11 AM – 1 PM, and a free mushroom class runs once a month. Beginners are the point, not an afterthought.

  • Four-class grow series — seed starting and cloning, veg, flower and harvest
  • Certificate and a free clone when you finish all four
  • Monthly mushroom class — substrate, sterile technique, fruiting and harvest
  • Pizza afterwards, every time
