Description
Karanja Oil Cake is the residue left after karanja seed kernels are crushed to extract the oil. Rich in N-P-K, it works as an organic fertilizer. It comes from Neem Resource, whose neem and karanja products are Ahimsa certified organic.
Karanja cake has a very mild odor compared to neem cake and is almost identical to neem cake in properties. It has been known to enrich the soil and protect the plant, and earthworm populations have been known to increase where neem cake has been applied. It is well suited to vegan organic gardening.
What it does
- Slow-release nitrogen
- Aerates and nourishes
- Promotes plant growth and resistance
- Improves soil quality
How to use
- Use it full strength or mixed with other organic amendments such as kelp, seaweed or manure.
- Apply before planting (the area can be prepared up to a week or 10 days ahead), during planting, or around the root zone of established plants.
- Mix it into the soil 6-8 inches deep, or use it as a basal dressing.
- Coverage: 180 to 360 lbs./acre, or 1 lb. for plots of 100 to 160 sq.ft.
Mixing into container soil: 1/2 cup per cubic foot is plenty. A cubic foot is about 7.5 gallons of soil, and 1 cup weighs 6.5 ounces.
