Hydroponics Store Near Northern Rhode Island
We’ll be straight with you: Matt’s Hydroponics is in Massachusetts, not Rhode Island. But our two stores sit just over the line — Milford on I-495 and Webster on I-395 — and a lot of growers from Woonsocket, Cumberland, Burrillville and Providence make the 25-to-40-minute drive because it’s a real full-service grow shop with people who actually grow. Webster is open seven days a week; Milford is open Monday through Saturday.

Growing at home in Rhode Island — the short version
- Adults 21 and over may grow at home.
- The limit is three mature and three immature plants per primary residence — that’s a household cap, not per person.
- Cultivation has to be at your primary residence. Adults may keep up to 10 ounces at home.
- Exceeding the plant limit is a misdemeanor, so count carefully.
Plain-English summary, not legal advice. The state’s own page is health.ri.gov; our tri-state guide compares RI, MA and CT side by side.
Why Rhode Island growers make the drive
- Someone to talk to. Bring photos of your room, a leaf in a bag, your feed chart. The five-minute conversation is usually worth more than the product.
- The whole catalog under one roof. Nutrients, lights, media, climate gear, propagation and IPM — and you can see it and pick it up, not wait on a box.
- Live clones. Rooted, health-screened cuts from The Clone Foundry, fresh stock arriving daily. About our clones.
- Free classes. Grow classes every Saturday and a mushroom class once a month. Free, with pizza. RSVP on the calendar so we know you’re coming.
- Free Clone Fridays. Spend $40 in store on a Friday and take a plant start home. How it works.
- Massachusetts sales tax is 6.25%. Rhode Island’s is 7%. It isn’t why you should come, but it doesn’t hurt on a tent-and-light purchase.
