Big Time Hydroponics is best known for Big Time Zyme, an enzyme product that breaks down dead root matter and organic debris in the root zone. In a recirculating system that debris is what feeds the pathogens you do not want, so an enzyme is one of the cheapest pieces of insurance you can run.
